While mentoring engineering students at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, he was voted the most popular visiting speaker by the freshman class when he appeared dressed in a dark suit and red tie, carrying an engineering slide-rule in one hand and a cowboy's lariat in the other.
He has entertained with rope tricks as the featured speaker at Rotary Club Luncheons in Florida and the Bahamas, and was recently invited to performed rope tricks at Cowboy Town in Nashville, Tennessee for the 50th wedding anniversary of long time friends.
Mr. Cummins is an SAR Compatriot and was invited to speak at the Daytona-Ormond Chapter SAR Luncheon and the Sugar Mill Chapter DAR evening meeting where he introduced his new book, "Life Is Sexually Transmitted" and gave a light hearted talk about his writing experiences.
He has also been invited to several radio interviews and book signings. He and his wife, Ann, enjoy traveling, visiting with their children and grandchildren, and walking along the world's most famous beach near their home.
